High yield investment program or HYIP is defined as any investment that brings in a higher rate of interest than your savings account, which at current interest rates is about 4% to 5% per annum.
Legal HYIP are usually based "offline" and are operated by registered companies. The minimums to get into these HYIP's range from $500 to $10 million and upwards.
Online HYIP's are a completely different thing to offline HYIP's. Online HYIP's are programs which accumulate money and put investments into high profitable projects. Minimimun investment ranges from $1 - $100. The pooled money is then invested in foreign exchange (FOREX), stock market (NASDAQ), real estate, betting games, etc.
Investing in HYIPs comes with higher risk than other investment programs. There are also a lot of ponzi and scam programs purporting to be legitimate HYIP. Read a lot about HYIP investing, join forums, read monitoring sites and do due diligence and research. If you are properly equipped, you will make a lot of money with HYIP.
Online HYIP's can be divided into 3 different categories; Dailies, weeklies and monthlies. It basically refers to when you will receive your payments. In general, variable weekly or monthly returns are the safest to invest in. Also HYIPs with lower interest rates are more sustainable than those offering higher interest rates. HYIPs offering high interest rates are most likely ponzi or scam programs to attract more investors. Sustainable rates are from 0.5 - 5% per day.
Below are recommended sites which I have done research and due diligence. It is free to signup but you will start to earn interest only when you have deposited money in your account.
